ELDOA™ Method at Dynamic Pilates
By Appointment Only
You know that feeling when your back is stiff, your shoulders are up to your ears, and you just can’t seem to shake that hunched-over posture? The ELDOA™ Method might be your new favourite thing. It’s a series of postural exercises designed to create space in your joints—particularly the spine. Think of it like giving your vertebrae a gentle “thank you” for all they do (hello, better posture and less stiffness).
What Is ELDOA™ All About?
Developed by French osteopath Dr. Guy Voyer, the ELDOA™ Method is all about decompression. Each movement or “posture” is carefully designed to stretch and strengthen specific segments of your spine. It may look like you’re just reaching or twisting, but you’ll feel an almost immediate sense of relief when you hit those sweet spots. Imagine walking away taller, lighter, and with a new appreciation for how your body can move.
Who’s It For?
If you sit at a desk all day, deal with chronic back or neck pain, or you’re simply looking to stand a bit taller, ELDOA™ is worth a try. You don’t need any fancy fitness background. All you need is a willingness to learn the postures and a desire to care for your spine.
What to Expect in a Session
How We Teach ELDOA™
Here at Dynamic Pilates, we like to keep things personal. Our certified instructors will walk you through each posture step by step, making sure you’re hitting the right angles and movements that suit your body. We’ll start with simpler exercises and gradually challenge you as you build confidence and flexibility. It’s all about moving at your own pace and listening to your body’s cues.
-
Warm-Up & Assessment
We’ll check in with how you’re feeling that day and warm up your major muscle groups before diving into specific ELDOA™ postures.
-
Targeted Postures
Each posture is designed to decompress a certain part of your spine—lumbar, thoracic, cervical—so you can focus on wherever you need the most TLC.
-
Breath & Alignment
We’ll guide you on when to inhale, when to exhale, and how to maintain that crucial alignment. It might feel like micro-adjustments, but they make a huge difference.
-
Integration & Cool-Down
After you’ve practiced the postures, we’ll wrap up with gentle stretches or even a few quick Pilates moves to reinforce that feeling of openness.
